For all of the people that can't live without their "show desktop" icon (although Windows-m minimizes) but have accidently deleted the icon, here's how to get it back. I found this information here, but it seems to be readily available everywhere.
Create a text file on the desktop (call it something like "show desktop.txt"), double click it and then enter the following into the text editior

Save the file and rename it "show desktop.scf" - that should create the correct file which will toggle showing the desktop.
