remove old entries from bigsister

After a while running BigSister, you end up with a bunch of old servers and stuff clogging up your otherwise pretty reports. I can never find the right commands in the manual, so I thought that I’d put up the commands here and a link to the relevant page:

VMWare failed to create virtual disk: file too large

This falls under the heading of RTFM. I was trying to create a disk that was 400Gb in size on a VMWare server and I kept getting the error:

Changes to Australia’s daylight saving time

Due to changes in Australia’s daylight saving time, I’ve found a need to update a number of (varied) Linux servers to the new date stamps. In order to make this slightly easier, I’ve scripted it and included everything in a nice little tarball.

VMWare ESX server “performance data is currently not available for this entity”

Whenever I loaded up the Virtual Infrastructure Client (VI client) and tried to look at the performance metric, the server would always tell me that “performance data is currently not available for this entity”. After a quick google, I found a potential solution on the VMWare forums which said to try a:
